村橋久成、第一回薩摩藩英国留学生

加治木島津家の分家に生まれ 、北海道「開拓使麦酒醸造所」設立に尽力した村橋久成は、第一回薩摩藩英国留学生として、五代友厚や最年少の長沢鼎らと一緒に19名で英国へ留学した。
Hisanari Murahashi, born into a branch of the Kajiki Shimazu family, worked hard to set up the Hokkaido 'Kaitakushi Beer Brewery.' He was one of the first group of 19 students from the Satsuma Domain to study in the UK, along with Tomoatsu Godai and the youngest member, Kanae Nagasawa. |
